English presentation
The Valle dei Cavalieri farmhouse is located in the district of Succiso Nuovo, in the municipality of Ventasso and in the province of Reggio Emilia.
The Cooperative carries out its activities within the “National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines“.
Succiso is located about 1,000 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Alpe di Succiso, where the summit exceeds 2,000 Mslm.
In the farmhouse there is a bar, a shop with typical zero-kilometer products, the restaurant, that can accommodate up to 180 people, 16 beds in the main building and another 25 in a separate building not far away. Inside the main building there is a small wellness center and the Visitor Center of the National Park.
The farm is located in a separate structure, with the breeding of about 250 sheep and its own production of the famous pecorino cheese of the “Appennino reggiano”.
The restaurant’s cuisine is full of traditional dishes and they are all freshly prepared with zero-kilometer products. Among these, the specialty of lamb and mushrooms stands out.
Around the village of Succiso there are numerous paths for walks and excursions with various levels of difficulty, to be made on foot or by mountain bike. It is therefore possible to visit shelters or bivouacs up to the summit of the Alpe.
Then in winter, you can go hiking, while in autumn the area is famous for mushroom picking and other sports such as fishing.
The farm also has a multipurpose synthetic grass field for five-a-side football, tennis, volleyball. Near the main building there is also a sports field and a bowling alley.
The structure has an agreement with the association “Altri Passi” for hiking guides and with the cork museum. The Cooperative also collaborates with the National Park as it is a visitor center.
